the mix and match project was conceived by myself and chris schooley as a way of friends working collaboratively to educate ourselves and others about music. it started very simply: an exchange of mix cd's and coffee. then we talked more about it and decided to include more people, in an effort to make the result (hopefully) at least somewhat entertaining.

Mix and Match Vol. 2 submissions from the Captain

though tempted to put up what i think is one of the creepiest stalker songs of all time (Alan Parsons' "Eye in the Sky"), i resisted and offer up these tracks:

Dolly Parton-These Old Bones
it's a song about seeing into the future. the creepy old lady cackle that Dolly is able to pull off kind of makes me laugh, kind of makes me miss home.

Camper Van Beethoven-I Don't See You
it's a song about the power people can have over one another even when the corporeal association is absent.

The Streets-When You Wasn't Famous
poor mikey skinner's anthem about being in the public eye, how much he hates camera phones, and the trials and tribulations of dating hot women.

nice topic professor, i'm anxious to see what the rest of the crew will come up with.

Eye in the Sky is one of my favorites ever. It's even more fitingly creepy that you always hear it in supermarkets. Alas, I only have it on vinyl. Good show Captain, great songs.
